PoEsmart 256320 is an IEEE 802.2bt standard Power Over Ethernet inline tester that is effective and an essential device when operating PoE technology. It conducts a power test from PSE (power sourcing equipment) and provides an informative power supply status of PoE systems during the PoE system or CCTV system installations. It identifies PoE standard IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at, or IEEE 802.3bt of PSE without the need of having a separate PD (powered device). PoEsmart is fitted with an essential PD to simulate a powered device known as SPD (simulate powered device). When connected with a PD, PoEsmart's innovative technology can analyze and monitor the voltage, current, and power status supplied by PSE without interrupting data flow.
PoEsmart is a compact design unit equipped with an OLED high-resolution display for an enhanced viewing quality and wider viewing angle when analyzing PoE type, polarity, voltage, current and power in various settings. Compared with the old model POEZ, the improved features are:
1. Single tester unit
POEZ has two units as a kit, the main unit plus a PD (power device) simulator. The PoESmart combines the two units into 1 single test unit, so it's easier to carry around not missing anything.
2. Test result more accurate: Higher detecting resolution
For example, the resolution for POEZ to test the power was 1.0W / 1V / 0.01A, but the new POESmart can detect 0.01W/ 0.1V / 0.001A, so the testing result is more accurate.
3. Real-time inline status analysis and monitoring
When working with IP Cameras, POESmart can perform the inline test while the IP camera is still on, no data would be blocked.
When performing the inline test with POEZ, the user would not be able to see the IP camera image, but now with the newPOESmart, they can run the inline test while the camera is still feeding, so it is a TRUE real-time inline test.
4. Good for the latest 802.3 BT
PoESmart is compatible with the latest IEEE 802.3 BT standard. It could work as a PD by itself and perform a handshake with a POE switch, so the user can tell if the POEthey work with is ACTIVE or PASSIVE.
5. Identify the POE standards
Identify which POE standard is running at the moment, either IEEE 802.3AF / IEEE 802.3AT / IEEE 802.3BT or non-standard POE can be detected and shown on the screen without having a separate powered device.
6. DC power inline test
There is a DC inline test interface on the POESmart, sothose older IP cams which run coax plus power cord can also be tested. It measures voltage, current, and power from DC supplies.
